Carnival – a time for fun and learning! In the picture, Arcobaleno course teacher Nicol Parrillo from Homburg/Saar (Luitpoldschule, 2nd grade) is performing the Quadriglia, a traditional group dance with structured steps and formations, with her students during a parents’ celebration on February 14, 2025.
“This dance is traditionally performed on Shrove Tuesday,” explained the German class teacher, Ms. Neulist. The steps and movements were accompanied by instructions and commands in Italian and French.
Why French? Simple: The students are already preparing for next year, when both languages will be taught in tandem in 3rd grade!
